Written and reviewed by the modsforClaude.com maintainers at the pinned commit. Hooks prompt.submit, tool.call and turn.complete only to count and time a turn; shows one toast. No network calls, nothing stored. Validates with claude plugin validate; 6 of 6 tests pass on Claude Code 2.1.286.

In the terminal

Clone the repository and start Claude Code with the mod. It stays loaded for that session.

In the desktop app

Clone the repository into a folder you keep:

git clone https://github.com/modsforclaude/done-toast ~/claude-mods/done-toast

Add that folder to CLAUDE_CODE_PLUGIN_DIRS in the env block of ~/.claude/settings.json, then start a new session in the Code tab. On Windows, with your own user name:

Start a long task, switch to something else, and get a toast when Claude is done:

The toast appears when a turn took at least 60 seconds and stays for 10 seconds. The threshold can be changed in the settings of the mod. Short turns, turns you interrupted yourself and subagent turns do not get a toast.

The mod counts prompts, tool calls and finished turns. It does not read the content of your prompts or of the tool calls, makes no network calls and stores nothing.
